Overland pictures
Here are some of the many awesome pictures from the Overland trip:
Before arriving at our first campsite, we stopped in a small town to buy snacks...little did we know that you would be able to buy 1 kg bags of cheezies for a mere 5Rand ($1), we took a picture, but never bought them...shame!
Our first night was at Orange River where Anna and I swam to Namibia (across these buoys)
Then enjoyed the sunset from these cool showers
We then spent the night bonding with the group...and I tried to copy Anna's picture smile
The next day we crossed into Namibia (for real this time)
and our guide Walt stopped the truck (Stevie) in the middle of the dirt road and had us walk for 10 minutes in our own direction to take in the vastness of Namibia
Anna and I then rode on the top of the truck....backwards....and this is what that in combination with the desert does to my hair!
A Quiver Tree (Aloe)
Fish River Canyon

Colin talking to some local children
Anna and I at Dune 45

Deadvlei, Soussesvlei (a limestone riverbed with 1700yr old trees)
Me and Anna at Deadvlei....true desert troopers!

Anna and I by our tent in Solitaire
Shortly after we crossed the Tropic of Capricorn
Our last ocean stop of the Overland trip (Atlantic Ocean...Skeleton Coast)
Anna and I ran to this arch
Then climbed this rock in Spitzkoppe to watch yet another sunset
More of Spitzkoppe
Next we went to Otjititongwe Cheetah Park where we got to pet tame cheetahs

And watch the feeding of the wild ones

We also got to visit a Himba tribe...what beautiful and interesting people...
A Young Himba woman
Churning milk
A woman in the tribe who has German missionary influences
A young girl grinding ochre for her skin and hair
Himba children
Next stop...Etosha National Park
The watering hole at our campsite

The second day at Etosha was Anna's birthday...so she wore these jewels all day, and even let Walt wear some of them
Hanging out on the truck...looking for game
Game, game, and more game
